Daphna Nissenbaum

Daphna Nissenbaum is the CEO and Co-Founder of TIPA®,
a leading developer and manufacturer of compostable packaging founded in Israel in 2012.
Before launching TIPA®, Daphna was CEO of the Caesarea Center for Capital Markets and Risk Management at the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC), Herzliya. Previously, she held various management positions at SPL World Group Ltd, a provider of revenue and operations management software, prior to which she held the position of project manager at Whelty Lager Ltd., located in Boston MA, USA.
Daphna holds an MBA specializing in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from IDC Herzliya (graduated with honors) and a BA in Economics and Software Engineering from Bar Ilan University. She graduated the elite Israel Defense Forces software engineering program (Mamram) and served in the Israeli Navy software unit as an officer (ranked Captain).
Today, Daphna is leading the TIPA® team in the movement to revolutionize packaging systems and rid the world of plastic pollution. TIPA® fully compostable flexible packaging replaces conventional plastic, turning waste into resource, a crisis into an opportunity.
Noa Shpitzer-Mizrachi

Mrs. Noa Shpitzer-Mizrachi, Director of Extended Producers Responsibility (EPR) Division, Israel Ministry of Environmental Protection since 2016. Applies the laws of Beverage Containers (DRS), Tires, Packaging, WEEE and plastic bags.
Noa has held several roles in the Ministry of Environmental Protection for the past 21 years including the management of the Industry sector in the Air Pollution Prevention Division and the management of the producers sector in the EPR division.
Noa holds a B.A in Geology and Chemistry from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and M.Sc in Public Policy from Ben Gurion University in Beer Sheva.
Dr. Karni Lotan
IDC Herzliya
Dr. Karni Lotan Marcus specializes in sustainable food systems and sustainable innovations. She is a researcher and a lecturer at the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) Herzliya, in the field of food systems in 21st century. In a series of public podcasts and broadcasts, she elucidates present and future challenges of feeding a growing population. Prior to her academic career, she practiced law in major law firms in Israel and New York, in the fields of intellectual property and antitrust. Dr. Lotan Marcus earned her doctorate in law (J.S.D) from the University of California, Berkeley.
Maya Jacobs

Maya holds an MA in Public Management from the Interdisciplinary Institute, Hertzlia, an MIA in International Affairs from Columbia University, NYC, and a BA in communications and Jewish History from Tel Aviv University.
Maya is the Directing Manager of Zalul since 2012, during which she led the NGO to many achievements and into new fields, including responsible offshore drilling for gas and oil and decreasing plastic pollution. Today Zalul is the leading organization in Israel dealing with these two issues.
Maya has over 20 years of experience in strategic and media advising, lobbying and campaign management for political and social causes. She has served in the past as spokesperson and part of the close staff of Prime Minister Ehud Barak, as Chief Information Officer for the Israeli Consulate General in NY, as Chief Representative of the Geneva Initiative in North America and as Director of Communications and Public Affairs at the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, a M100$ foundation. As owner of MJ Media Solutions, she provided PR, Lobbying, fundraising and networking services to Americans in Israel and to Israelis in the US.
Maya is a frequent commentator on environmental and social issues in the media and conferences. She was chosen as one of 20 leading female activists for 2018 by Lady Globes Magazine and was one of three representatives of the Israeli environmental sector to meet HRH the Duke of Cambridge when he visited Israel in 2018.

Philipp Hasler is an Investment Director with Emerald Technology Ventures in our Zurich office and focuses on emerging energy technologies, advanced materials, AgriFood and circular economy.

Since 2000, we backed over 60 outstanding entrepreneurs and partnered with dozens of multinational corporations on open innovation. In AgriFood, our most recent investments are in CRIPSR and cultured meat.
Philipp has been with Emerald since 2001 and fields of expertise within the AgriFood sector include digital solutions for the agricultural industry and supply chain, process technologies and alternative proteins.
In his tenure at Emerald, Philipp is or has been serving as Board Director or Observer of several Emerald portfolio companies. He also is a frequent speaker and jury member at international conferences.
Prior to join Emerald in 2001, Philipp has been a senior project manager for nine years at a process engineering company and five years as a senior researcher in fuel cell development.
